Miniature Mania

The lot of dollhouse miniatures that I recently picked up have really opened my eyes to the whole world and industry of miniature furniture.  Today I won a lot of 20 victorian miniatures in an online auction and a short time later I found a really cool handmade dollhouse at a thrift store!  I staged it with the mid century minis I still have. Yes, I played with a dollhouse today.

Picked: Curtis Jere Sculpture

Last night I picked up a stunning Curtis Jere wall art sculpture.  Art can take a long time to sell in a local market so I listed it on Ebay.  Many of his similar pieces sell for $250-$1550.  I am starting it with a reserve of $125.  Sold on Ebay on 12/8/11 for $152.00

Weekend Pickings

Lately I have been buying more than I have been selling so I decided to stay away from the sales this weekend.  After selling several pieces in the couple days I decided to check out a sale that I had heard was pretty good.  It had the best collection of antiques that I had ever seen!!!.  Check this link for pictures.

I have been busy preparing for the Christmas shopping rush.  In the last week I have made four original coffee tables.  Three are made from antique and military trunks and one was made using

a typeset tray and hairpin legs.

I just picked up a 10 drawer solid oak flat file cabinet.  All the drawers run very smoothly. 

I am sure it will go to a good home soon.  Sold $250.

Mid Century Miniatures

This Saturday I went to an estate sale of an accomplished dollhouse miniature artist.  There were well over 1000 pieces of handcrafted miniature furniture.  I bought a display of 30 mid century replicas.  The collection included a Herman Miller arm shell chair & side chair, a slide leaf table, fireplace, and much more!  I am auctioning off each set on ebay every couple days.  Happy bidding!
