Refinished: B.P. John Platform Sofa

About a month ago I found the frame for this amazing sofa.  My goal was to have it done in time for the  Portland Flea.  Due to a long list of projects we were unable to meet that goal.  But we put in a lot of work this weekend and now we are proud to offer it to the public.
Picking out the fabric was a daunting task.  We wanted something that would be true to the time period but not so funky.  This gold fabric that we found has the bold look that we wanted and could work with most color schemes.
The total dimensions are 120'' long x 25'' tall x 32'' deep.
The dimensions of the sofa cushion is 74'' wide & 15'' tall.
For Sale $1500 or best offer.

Sunday Pickin'

When I head out each morning I always have a list of sales to attend.  I never just drive around and follow yard sale signs.  This morning I made a rare exception.  After making my usual flea market stop I went to a neighborhood that I knew had a number of sales going on.  Most of the sales yielded no return but I managed to find a few gems.

My surprise find of the day was the Danish lounge chair.  I will add it to my project list.
It should be up for sale in about a week or two.

It is always funny to see how people try to replace webbing.  In this case lawn chair webbing was used.

Here is an example of one that was refinished
Amazing Bilora "Biloret III" Tripod.  The legs extend from 8''-42''! I think I am keeping this one.

Recently I did very well on a rustic wire basket I picked up.  I decided to pick up another one.
This one came with some bonus retro grapes.

 (4) Vintage metal 35mm slide cases.  For Sale $15 each.

Picking Tip: When you see a lot of an item that you like.  Buy them all.  You can get a better deal by buying in bulk.  It's also a great way to stock up on merchandise.

This wall sconce is amazing! It's a perfect match for this glassware.  Price TBA.

"Sidewalk Cafe" print by Collins.  A beautiful Parisian scene.  For Sale $100

A Busy Thursday Morning

Usually there are only one or two sales to attend on Thursdays but this week there were too many to count.  I picked out 4 that I liked, two garage sales, an estate sale, and a church rummage sale.  The first garage sale and church rummage sale were a bust but the other two sales were quite productive.

I got a great deal on this wood slab.  I am sure I will find a good use for it.

Simple mid century side table / night stand.  For Sale $35

St. Timothy Leather Executive Chair.  On the bottom is has a sticker on it that says "Property of U.S. Bankruptcy Court".  I could picture the judge presiding over the cour from this chair.
For Sale $150

Classic solid wood armchair with leather upholstery.  For Sale $100

Emeco Navy Semi Upholstered Chair.  For Sale $350

Classic Upholstered Occasional Chair.  For Sale $60.

This Gunlocke Chair is one of my favorite mid century American designs.  I have had a few of them and they always sell quickly.  We should have this one refinished and ready for sale in a week or two.

Gunlocke Chairs always have this medallion embedded somewhere in the frame.

This chair is another project piece.  SOLD

Tensor Gooseneck Lamp.  For Sale $40.

Reupholstered: Mid Century Sofa

A few weeks ago I found this amazing project sofa.  This last weekend Heather and I stripped it, added new padding, and reupholstered it.  It is for sale for $700.
If interested you can contact me at pdxpicker @ gmail dot com

It turned out beautifully!  It's hard to believe that it is the same sofa.

Portland Flea: 7/22/12

This Sunday Heather and I vended at the Portland Flea.  She blogged about our experience so I am sharing her post with all of you.  You can read her blog at http://www.joyofallcrafts.com/
Portland Flea is definitely a highlight of every month! It's lots of work, but always so rewarding. Chris and I are really enjoying working together on our joint-venture, Remnant. Portland Flea is an monthly event held at an event space, Union/Pine. There are about 30 vendors that make this event truly special. If we didn't vend ourselves, we'd attend all day! ;) Mark your calendars for next months, Sunday, August 19th 10am - 4pm.

This month, we had four truck loads of merchandise, it was a little more than packed! But the stand out piece was this sofa that Chris and I completely reupholstered. New cushy batting, new upholstery even down to the covered buttons. To say that I enjoyed putting this together is an understatement. I'm so thrilled with how this piece turned out, you will be seeing lots more to come! **Tomorrow, I'll have the complete before and after plus process shots**

Throughout this month, Chris kept falling in love with lamps. It became a joke, because he was constantly coming home with more lamps! We could have changed our name to The Lighting Factory.

Do you have a favorite piece?
